Getting started

  1. Create an account. Free covers one screen with photos, videos, playlists and signs, with no card.
  2. Plug an Amazon Fire TV Stick into your TV and install the Dislab app on it from the Amazon Appstore.
  3. Open Dislab on the TV. It shows a 6-character code.
  4. In the console, choose Screens, Add screen, and type the code. On your phone, app.dislab.app/pair does the same.
  5. Upload a photo or video in Media and choose it for the screen. On Pro, build playlists and signs too.

Once signed in, the Help page in the console has a guide for every part of Dislab.

A screen is offline or not updating

  1. Open Health in the console to see when the screen last checked in and what it is doing.
  2. A screen only switches to new content once every file has downloaded. "Downloading" means it is on its way; large videos on slow internet can take a while.
  3. Check the TV is on and set to the right HDMI input, and that the stick is connected to Wi-Fi (Fire TV Settings, Network).
  4. Unplug the stick's power for 10 seconds and plug it back in. Dislab opens by itself and catches up.
  5. Still stuck? Ask for a screenshot from the screen's page, then email us with the screen's name.

While offline, a screen keeps playing what it already has. Alerts on the Health page can email you when a screen goes offline.

Publishing from Canva

  1. In a Canva design, choose Share, then Dislab.
  2. Choose Connect Dislab, sign in to Dislab and approve. You only do this once.
  3. Choose a photo (each page becomes its own photo) or a video, then Publish. The design appears in Media within moments.

To disconnect Canva, open Settings, Connected apps in Dislab.
