An upload or conversion failed
What each upload and conversion message means, from file types to storage and this month’s conversion time.
A file that doesn’t upload says Not uploaded with the reason; one that uploads but can’t be made TV-ready says Failed. Neither counts towards your storage. Press Dismiss to clear it, fix the file and upload it again.
Uploading
- “That file type is not supported.”: upload a photo (JPEG, PNG, WebP, HEIC or GIF) or a video (MP4, MOV, WebM or M4V). Export PowerPoint or PDF pages as images first.
- “Files can be up to 4 GB.”: export a smaller version (1080p is plenty for a TV).
- “Not enough storage left for this file.”: see Storage. Delete files you no longer use in Media, or move to Pro.
- “You’ve used this month’s conversion time.”: every upload is converted on our servers, and each plan has an allowance a month (shown under Converting this month on Storage). It starts again on the 1st; until then, use files you’ve already uploaded.
- “Let the uploads in progress finish first.”: wait for the uploads under way, then add the rest.
- “The upload was interrupted.” or “The upload was refused.”: the connection dropped. Try again on steadier Wi-Fi.
Converting
- “We couldn’t read this file.”: it may be damaged or in an unusual format. Export it again as an MP4 video or a JPEG photo.
- “Videos can be up to 10 minutes long.”: trim it and upload it again.
- “This picture is too big”: photos and videos can be up to 64 megapixels. Resize it first.
- “This file took too long to convert.”: try a shorter or smaller version.
- “Converting this file failed.”: upload it again. If it fails twice, email it to support@dislab.app.
Converting a photo takes seconds; a long video a few minutes. A file still saying Processing after half an hour: email us its name.
